Leigh Blase Strain grew up in southern NJ studying acrobatics, ballet, jazz and modern in area studios. In high school, she completed the Jay Dash student teacher program in Philadelphia, PA, for Acrobatic, ballet and jazz. Leigh, performed with the Mount Laurel Regional Ballet as a young adult in the Nutcracker Ballet and various ballet excerpts. She has taught acrobatics in South Jersey for over 30 years. Leigh has entered many Acro groups, solos, duos and trios in local and national dance competitions which received top awards.
In 2015 she achieved Acrobatic Arts Module One Certification (Level Primary to 6). Leigh then applied and won the Dale White Creativity Scholarship for Acrobatic Arts Module Two (Level 7 to Pre Pro 3) and was certified in 2016. Since then, she has been certified by Acrobatic Arts for Module Three (Advanced) and AcroDance Preschool.
Leigh teaches Acrobatic Arts curriculum and her students participate in the international exams conducted by Acrobatic Arts, every year. Her students were the first in the USA to participate in Acrobatic Arts exams.
Leigh has been teaching alongside Jen and Erin for the last ten years and is very excited to begin this new journey with them. She is thrilled to be part of Spotlight Performing Arts Center's opening season.
